Giddy on Up by Laura Bell Bundy

Hey, all you out there in Cyberspace!

So, you were probably greatly surprised by our song choice today. As most of you know, I cannot stand most country music. I don't know why, but I really don't care for it. However, this song is so fun and goofy. I first heard it while playing Just Dance with my sister and it quickly became one of our favorite songs to dance to. For whatever reason, all morning this song was stuck in my head so I figured I would make it the song of the day. Let me know what you guys think!

If you have any ideas for songs we should have for upcoming Cordelia's Playlist send us a Tweet @CordyCross with the #CCSongofTheDay and I'll check it out and give my thoughts on it. :)

TRNDSTTR By Black Coast

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

Today is another sort of mellow day like yesterday so I have been listening to a lot of the similar type of music. My coworkers used to always tell me that they could tell what kind of mood I was in based on the kind of music I was blasting in my office in the morning. I used to think they were crazy, but I never really realized how accurate that was. This song is a newer one that I started listening to based on a recommendation from my sister and I really liked it. So I thought I would share it with all of you. I hope you all enjoy it!

We Rise by San Holo

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

It's Cordelia.

Today has been a sort of mellow relaxing sort of day for me. I know it's a bit odd, but when I have these kinds of slow days I really enjoy listening to beat-heavy dance music that doesn't really have a lot of words. It helps me sort of focus in on what I am trying to do. That being said, today's song of the day is We Rise by San Holo.

Lost in the Rhythm by Jamie Berry and Octavia Rose

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

It is not real secret that I absolutely love Electroswing music. I don't know specifically what it is, but I just love the way it makes me want to get up and dance. This one specifically is no exception, even as I am writing this post I find myself dancing to the music in my seat. I hope you all enjoy it too!

The Devil's Bleeding Crown by Volbeat

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

I love this next group, Volbeat because despite being a newer group, they still have that old classic metal sound. I really think you guys will like this one too.

Absolute Zero by Stone Sour

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

When you listen to this one, the words sound all sad and depressing, but the song itself is just so catchy. I can't help blasting the song and singing along off-key every time it comes on. What do you think of it?

Bad Karma by Axel Thesleff

Hey, all you out there in Cyberspace!

One of my favorite things about the Trap Nation Youtube Channel is that they find a lot of popular songs that have been remixed and recreated in the techno, electronic, and trap genres even though originally they may have been rap, hip hop, or all kinds of other types of music. This version of Bad Karma is one I listen to almost daily.

Origin by Far Out

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace.

Techno and electronic instrumental music are usually my goto types of music to listen to when I am really trying to focus on something. It helps me zero in on the task at hand and it keeps me motivated. This is one of the reasons why I love groups like the Glitch Mob and Assemblage 23 so much. Far Out is a group that I found recently, and it has quickly become one of my favorite go to groups. I even added them to my playlist called FOCUS on Spotify. I feel like this song would have been perfect for a videogame too, something like Tron that has a heavy technology setting. What do you guys think of this one?

Stressed Out (Tomsize Remix) by Twenty One Pilots

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

Twenty One Pilots is one of those groups that doesn't have a single song that I don't like, so when I saw that someone had remixed some of their music I was skeptical to say the least. I listen to the TrapNation Youtube Channel a lot as background music when I am working on things. When I started listening to this song, I was pleasantly surprised and almost love it as much as the original. Tomsize did a great job of remixing the song without destroying the original sound. I hope you all like this version, and in the comments, please let me know if you like this one or the orignal better.

Supposed To Be By Icon for Hire

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

Icon for Hire has a great way of having their lyrics tell a story in their songs. They are always filled with great emotion and conflict without being too story heavy to enjoy the actual song. This one describes how the singer is struggling with finding herself and who she is supposed to be, while being lost in her overwhelming emotions. This makes it the kind of song everyone can relate to. I hope you like it! This is Supposed to Be by Icon for Hire.

Kill or Be Killed by New Years Day

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

Here is another one I checked out at the recommendation of a friend. I still can't really decide if I like it or not. I know I like the instrumental track to this one, but I am sort of hot and cold with the lead singer's voice. What do all of you think? Do you know of another great song by the band that you like better?

Barrels of Whiskey - The O'Reillys and the Paddyhats

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

This morning, this song popped up in my recommended watch list and I just had to check it out. So far, I really like this band. After hearing this first song, I checked out a few of their other songs. Their style is an Irish folk crossover with a bit of metal despite being based in Germany. I really liked them and I think you will too, here is Barrels of Whiskey by the O'Reillys and the Paddyhats:

I'm Shipping Up To Boston by Dropkick Murphys

Drink by Alestorm

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

As you all know, this weekend is St. Patrick's Day weekend. Tons of people are going out and celebrating tonight because the holiday falls on a Sunday. When it comes to celebrating the holiday, many people go out and have a drink or two, they also tend to dance around and be happy and excited and celebrate their Irish pride. Here in Chicago, they even Dye the river green every year to celebrate.

Technically, Alestorm is a Scottish band, but their song Drink is the perfect companion to a St. Patrick's Day Celebration in spirit. I hope you all enjoy it!

Bury Me Alive by We Are the Fallen

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

I started listening to We are the Fallen because my sister showed them to me a bit ago. They definitely seem to be inspired by Amy Lee and the rest of the Evanescence style. I love it when I can find a metal or heavy rock band with a strong female voice like Carly Smithson.

If you like to listen to metal music with a melodic female lead with a great range, I recommend you listen to We are the Fallen.

What If I Was Nothing? by All That Remains

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

I LOVE it when a heavier rock or metal band has a singer that can handle the heavier parts of their music with screaming or shouting but still has an awesome voice when it comes to the deeper more emotion heavy melodic singing too. All That Remains is another one of those great bands that has that perfect balance between a heavier sound and a lighter one. If you haven't listened to this band before, but you love an alternative sound when it comes to your music as well as heavier music I highly recommend you give them a listen.

Gülümse Kaderine by Tarkan

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!!!

This song is one that I actually stumbled onto while viewing a friend's profile on a forum site that I go to. I wish I could say that I understand the lyrics, but I'd totally be lying. This song is just really fun and catchy, and I couldn't help loving it. I thought you guys might enjoy it too, so it is today's song of the day.

The Mountain by Three Days Grace

Hey, all you out there in Cyberspace!

I know I just shared a new Three Days Grace song a few days ago, but I just felt I had to share this one too. As a Three Days Grace loyal fan, I was really surprised at how much I liked the music from their new album. I was really worried I wouldn't enjoy it as much as their older stuff because Adam Gontier had left. However, Matt Walst does a really amazing job at performing in a way that we as fans expect from a Three Days Grace performance. If you haven't listened to this song yet, I highly recommend you do.

Dragonborn (Skyrim Theme) by Jonathan Young and Caleb Hyles

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

As all of you know, I am a HUGE sucker for metal covers of songs from movies and games. Just recently I stumbled onto Jonathan Young and Caleb Hyles separately, and then I found this cover that they collaborated on it. The first time I listened to it, I loved it instantly. I hope you all enjoy it too!

Right Left Wrong by Three Days Grace

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

I have been listening to Three Days Grace for YEARS and they are easily one of my favorite bands. This song was one I fell in love with right away. My boyfriend and I first heard it while driving to my mom's house for family dinner. We loved it so much that we plugged my phone into the car and listened to the song on repeat for the rest of the drive. I will admit I was really worried that their sound would change too much when Adam Gontier left and Matt Walst joined the band as their new singer. However, I was really pleasantly surprised with this song, and I think all of you will be too. :)

Glycerine by Bush

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace,

Here is Glycerine by Bush.

Lyrics:

It must be your skin that I'm sinking in It must be for real 'cause now I can feel And I didn't mind It's not my kind, it's not my time to wonder why Everything gone white Everything's grey Now you're here Now you're away I don't want this Remember that I'll never forget where you're at Don't let the days go by Glycerine, Glycerine I'm never alone I'm alone all the time Are you at one, or do you lie We live in a wheel where everyone steals But when we rise it's like strawberry fields I treated you bad, you bruise my face I couldn't love you more you've got a beautiful taste Don't let the days go by Could've been easier on you I couldn't change though I wanted to It should have been easier by three Our old friend fear and you and me Glycerine, Glycerine Don't let the days go by Glycerine Don't let the days go by.... Glycerine, Glycerine Glycerine, Glycerine Bad moon white again Bad moon white again As she falls around me I needed you more when you wanted us less I could not kiss, just regress It might just be clear simple and plain Well that's just fine that's just one of my names Don't let the days go by It could've been easier on you, you, you Glycerine, Glycerine, Glycerine, Glycerine

Fine Again by Seether

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

Shaun Morgan  has a voice that I have always loved and connected with. His songs are usually pretty deep and dark, and it shows in his performance. Here is Fine Again by Seether.

Highschool Never Ends by Bowling for Soup

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!

Bowling for Soup is another one of those bands that I haven't made a song I don't like. Their videos are always really creative and fun too. Here is their song Highschool Never Ends.
